We assume this powerful religious tradition served to unify diverse groups within the Basin and that the ceremonial network also involved integrate economic, political, and social activities and institutions above the household level. The tradition laid the foundations for the development of later powerful politics in the region, incluiding tiahuanaco, that possessed related corporate art styles and monumental architecture and sculpture. The broad significance of our project lies in examining the role of religion in political integration and in regional economic interaction over time.
