Contiene: Mention Switzerland and what images come to mind? The sublime splendour of the mountains and the rugged Alpine farmer. Nowadays, Swiss and Alpine seem inextricably linked. But what people in and outside Switzerland take for granted is actually a historical product of the last approximately 250 years. It was during this period that the idea of a Swiss folk culture, complete with all the typical representational and thematic accoutrements, was born.
