| Resumen, etc. | Breve recuento biográfico del general Manuel Isidoro Belzu, y síntesis de su gobierno, destacándose origen y primeros años: fallido intento del matrimonio Belzu-Gorriti vertiginoso ascenso en la carrera militar, acompañado de uno de los rasgos característicos que lo hizo único en su momento: su alta sensibilidad social que le mantuvo junto a las masas campesinas e impulso la lucha por su liberación. Asimismo, se relatan su gobierno y labor administrativa; la forma en que consolidó las instituciones republicanas en Bolivia, la concepción de la democracia y su aplicación en la política boliviana con tinte socialista. Igualmente analiza el entorno que le rodeo durante su gobierno, haciendo notar que no estuvo solo ni abandonado por la aristocracia, ya que importantes representantes de ella estuvieron a su lado, al igual que la casta militar y los sectores marginados de la sociedad (campesinos obreros y otros), construyendo una solida alianza policlasista que le sustentó en el poder. Finaliza con una descripción de la actividad de Belzu al dejar el gobierno, su alejamiento de la Patria y su retorno a Bolivia marcado por su sino fatal. La presencia del "Mahoma Boliviano" trascendió el tiempo y quedó arraigada, tanto así que al finalizar la antepasada centuria, todavía los campesinos que le conocieron y le veneraron en vida, prendían velas a su imagen, como si se tratara de un santo. |

| Resumen, etc. | Biographical count of general Manuel Isidoro Belzu, and synthesis of its government : insolvent attempt of the Belzu-Gorriti marriage; vertiginous ascent in the military specialty, accompanied of one of the characteristics that made it only at their moment: its high social sensitivity that maintained next to the masses farmers to him and impelled the fight by its liberation. Also, relates its government and administrative work; the form in which it consolidated the republican institutions in Bolivia, the conception of the democracy and its application in the Bolivian policy with socialist dye. Also it analyzes the surroundings during its government, doing to notice that it was not left by the aristocracy, since important representatives were to their side, like the chaste military and the marginalized sectors of the society (farmers, workers and others), constructing a solid alliance of classes that he sustained to him in the power. It finalizes with a description of the activity of Belzu when leaving the government, his distance of the Mother country and its return to Bolivia marked by his fatal destiny. The presence of the “Bolivian Mahoma" extended the time and was rooted, as much so still when finalizing the XIXth century, still the farmers who knew him and venerated to him while still alive, caught candles to their image, as if he was a Holy man. |
