Contiene: The purpose of this research, was the description ad analysis of a number of Papua cultures wich anthropologically still belonged to the terra incognita of the island. The mimika papuas proved to have been capable of remarkable artistic achievements. Their art, and in particular thei wood carving, does not suffer from comparison with that of their eastern neighbors, the Asmat, with whom they show a cultural relationship.
