Contiene: The tehuelche indians, who at one time inhabited Patagonia and the pampas regions of southern Argentina, are now culturally extinct. The life-style of these Hunter/Gatherers has remanined largely unknown and most of what has been recorded of their oral literature is contained in this slim volume. Originally published or established in Gaelic, Italian, and Spanish, the texts have been translated into English and organized according to a cosmogonic cycle and a hero cycle and in groups of narratives relating to Man, animals, plants, and extraordinary creatures.
