Contiene: This is a collection of 150 narratives pertaining to the oral tradition of the Chorote society of the Gran Chaco. Most of the narrative were collected since 1969 by a group of Argentine scholars who succeeded in establishing amicable contact with this heretofore inaccessible aboriginal society. The oral lore of the chorote indians distinguishes between a mythical and a modern age, the former characterized as a period of harmonious undifferentiated as a period of harmonious undifferentiated origins, the later as a period of disjunctive entropy.
