Originally the language of the Inca Empire, it is currently spoken by approximately five million inhabitants of Perú, Bolivia, Ecuador, Southern Colombia and Nothern Argentina. The greatest concentration of these speakers es in Peru and Bolivia, a large proportion of them monolinguals.
